Francine St Laurent
I’ve managed hundreds of land use projects in Whatcom, Skagit and Island counties. I earned my B.A. in Urban Planning and Environmental Policy and an MBA from WWU. For nearly 5 years, I helped property owners realize their investment and homeownership goals as part of the AVT Consulting team.
I’m a people-connector by nature, and this type of work relies heavily on bringing together diverse groups of people with different interests and goals.
Outside of planning, I’ve had a career in public affairs and communications. I’ve copy edited for a large regional newspaper, I’ve run internal communications at a financial institution, and I’m an active member of the Air National Guard where I serve as a public affairs officer and spokesperson. As a veteran and military officer, I bring proven leadership tactics (and strategy) to every project I manage.
I’m passionate about helping property owners navigate what can be a confusing and frustrating process. With me on your team, it won’t be. Like an oyster—my favorite local treat—every property is unique and has special features. A project, like a Pacific Northwest oyster, needs the right combination of patience, talent, trust and negotiation to come to life.
Art: It was important to me to hire a local artist to create a logo that was a piece of art. Gina with Fern in the Forest beautifully brought my idea to life and was a joy to collaborate with.
